Hanh Restaurant
A long-running local canteen serving the Hue small-dish set, a couple of streets back from the river.
Quan Hanh has been serving the same short menu for years: banh beo, banh loc, banh nam, nem lui and a few grilled things, ordered as a combination plate.
It is plainer than Madam Thu and cheaper, and it is where a fair number of Hue residents send visitors. The nem lui — lemongrass-skewered pork you roll yourself in rice paper with herbs and peanut sauce — is the thing to order.
Cash, quick turnover, no booking.
